How do I go about removing a gas fire and replace with a log burner and how much will it cost?

We are looking to remove an existing gas fire, We are not on the mains but use bottled gas for the fire and also our central heating. We then want to replace with a log burner which we already have. How do we go about it and how much will it cost. I would guess that the fire place will need opening up and swept but that is as much as I know. Any help would be appreciated.
