If you left a company previously, would you go back to that same company if there were vacancies?

I'm unemployed and basically i left Sainsburys (UK) las August because i was planning on going to University, well anyway my University finance fell through and i didn't go in the end. Now Sainsburys are recruiting again for Xmas, but this time in a different area than where i worked last time. What should i do? Should i apply there again?
