How do you calculate 8-bit binary numbers that are in sign and magnitude to the denary equivalent?

I need to know to calculate 8-bit binary numbers that are in sign and magnitude for my computer science course at university.

I have 2 here from the work sheet I saw one method but it didn't give me the correct answers as i have an answer sheet to check them against.

10011010 2
10101001 2

The 2 on the end of each should be little and at the bottom
