How much spending money should I take on holiday to India for 2 weeks?

Basically im going to India to meet a very close friend of mine, I'll be going alone, however I want to treat him to a few meals out, and other things there may be there. Possibly even a small flight for the two of us to somewhere else within India as I know local flights are cheap there.
I thought that £750 would be enough, which is about 64532 Rupees. Do you think that is enough, or do you think more. If so, how much more?
